Barastagi & Sibayak
Explore another must-see of North Sumatra! Located at around 3 hours from Bukit Lawang, Berastagi which means “rice store”, is a town located in the Barisan mountains. It’s cooler weather makes it the perfect place to harvest many things hence it’s lush green surroundings! During this overnight tour you’ll explore Berastagi and it’s highlights! You’ll climb the volcano by sunrise, relax at the hot springs and chase waterfall! During the afternoon you’ll discover Lumbini garden the famous boudhist temple, enjoy the panoramic view at Gudalling Hill and explore the famous fruits market before heading back to your guesthouse. This tour will take you into a culture trip to discover more about North Sumatra.
TOUR ITINERARY
Pick-up from Bukit Lawang, Lake Toba, or Medan (time flexible). Enjoy a scenic 3–4 hour drive to Berastagi, a cool mountain town known for its lush farms. Stay at a local family-run guesthouse with beautiful rice field views. Depending on arrival time, relax in the garden or explore the town by foot/tuktuk. Dinner at your guesthouse or local spots (not included). Early night for the next day's adventure
Wake up \~4 AM for a guided sunrise trek to Mount Sibayak with panoramic views. Afterward, soak in hot springs and enjoy a free breakfast. Continue to Sikulikap Waterfall for a refreshing swim, then visit Lumbini Garden (Buddhist temple—dress modestly). Lunch at a scenic restaurant (not included), followed by visits to a local church, traditional houses, and the famous fruit market. Wrap up with a stop at Gundaling Hill for sweeping views of Berastagi’s volcanoes and plantations. Return to your guesthouse and enjoy a cozy dinner (don’t miss the homemade pizza!).
After breakfast (not included), your driver will take you to your next destination (Bukit Lawang, Lake Toba, or Medan). Travel time:
