Day Treck
If you don’t have enough time ahead but feel like you wanna explore all the wilderness of the Sumatran jungle, this trek is made for you! Enjoy a 6 to 7 hours trek through the Gunung Leuser National Park and discover its amazing fauna and flora. Meet the semi wild orangutans but also all the other species that live amongst them. After a jungle lunch and a few more walking hours, enjoy a raft ride to go back to Bukit Lawang!

Itinerary
Trekking Adventure in Gunung Leuser National Park
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your guesthouse around 9:00 AM for an exciting day in nature.
You’ll start with a scenic walk along the river, then head uphill through rubber plantations to the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park.
Once inside the jungle, keep an eye out for semi-wild Sumatran Orangutans, as this area is known for them! You’ll have the chance to watch these incredible creatures swinging in the trees and caring for their young.
Next, enjoy a delicious snack of tropical fruits as you continue trekking through the rainforest.
After an hour of hiking, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Bohorok River valley and the park.
After a jungle lunch, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife like Long Tail and Pig Tail Macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and Monitor Lizards.
Take a refreshing swim in a small creek or waterfall before heading upstream to the Bohorok River.
Finally, wrap up your adventure with a thrilling “jungle taxi” ride (rafting) back to Bukit Lawang.
Your guide will return you to your guesthouse around 3:00 or 4:00 PM.
