5 Days Treck
This 5-day jungle observation trek gives you a unique experience of life in the tropical rainforest. You will roam really deep into the jungle, staying overnight at different camps in the Gunung Leuser National Park, at the Jambur Batu River, Landak River and Bohorok River. While hiking up and down the hills and crossing small rivers you acquire traditional jungle survival knowledge. If you are lucky there is also a chance to see foot print of Sumatran tigers! For this tour you need to be really fit and healthy enough to trek for several hours each day, happy to carry all your equipment!

Your camera, comfortable walking shoes, long trousers & socks, four changes of clothes, sweater, raincoat, flip flops or sandals, towel, torch, swimsuit, toilet paper, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, light backpack & 1 bottle of water.
Note: For solo traveler If you want todo private trekking tour,you are required to pay for 2 people.if you are not able to pay for 2 people,we can arrange for you to join withother group.
Itinerary
Day 1: Jungle Trekking Adventure
- Morning (9:00 AM): After breakfast, your guide will collect you from your guesthouse. Begin your journey with a scenic walk along the river, then trek uphill through rubber plantations to the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park.
- Jungle Exploration: Once inside, keep an eye out for semi-wild Sumatran Orangutans swinging in the trees. You’ll have time to observe these incredible creatures.
- Midday: Continue trekking through the rainforest, stopping for a tasty snack of tropical fruits. Enjoy breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the Bohorok River valley.
- Afternoon: After a jungle lunch, head to your overnight campsite, spotting wildlife like Long Tail and Pig Tail Macaques and Thomas Leaf Monkeys along the way.
- Evening (around 4:00 PM): Arrive at a campsite near a waterfall. Relax with tea or coffee, take a refreshing swim, and enjoy a dinner of curry and rice. Unwind around the bonfire before sleeping under a bamboo-framed tent, lulled by jungle sounds.
Day 2: More Jungle Exploration
- Morning: Wake up to a homemade breakfast in the rainforest. Trek for about 3 hours, keeping an eye out for wildlife. Enjoy lunch surrounded by the sounds of nature.
- Afternoon: After lunch, trek for another 3 hours to your second campsite. Relax with a refreshing swim in the river or waterfall, followed by a traditional dinner around the campfire, listening to your guide’s jungle stories. Rest up for the final trekking day!
Day 3: Final Trekking Expedition
- Morning: On your last morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast at the campsite. Trek for 4 to 6 hours, stopping to spot wildlife and enjoy tropical fruits. This is a great chance to see up to 8 monkey species, including Sumatran Orangutans and rare White-Handed Gibbons.
- Afternoon/Evening: After lunch, walk to a new campsite, relax, and swim in the river. After dinner around the campfire, you can opt for a night trek to spot nocturnal species.
Day 4: Deeper Jungle Discovery
- Morning: After breakfast, venture deeper into the rainforest, crossing rivers and exploring hidden waterfalls. Enjoy lunch amidst the jungle atmosphere and learn about local flora and medicinal plants.
- Afternoon/Evening: Reach your final campsite, where you can relax with tea or coffee while your guides prepare dinner. If you wish, you can join another night trek to observe nocturnal wildlife.
Day 5: Return Journey
- Morning: After breakfast, your trek will be tailored to your preferences. By now, you’ll have gained valuable jungle survival skills!
- Afternoon (around 1:00 or 2:00 PM): After your last jungle lunch, end your adventure with a fun “jungle taxi” ride (tubing) back to Bukit Lawang. Your guide will return you to your guesthouse, completing your unforgettable jungle experience!
